Estonia summoned Russia’s ambassador Wednesday over an airspace violation by Russian military aircraft, the Associated Press reported.

The Baltic country “demands an explanation” after a Russian Ilyushin-20 surveillance aircraft entered Estonia’s air space Tuesday, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mari-Liis Valter said.

The plane crossed into the airspace for about one minute, going 656 yards into the country’s airspace. Fighter jets from Denmark, Portugal, and Sweden were involved in intercepting the aircraft.

The incident comes as Russian forces face a litany of border violation accusations. The Swedish Navy has been searching for signs of a foreign submarine since Friday that officials suspect entered its waters illegally. The country has not yet accused Russia of the invasions, but analysts suspect the country may be the culprit.
